About Dr. Marcela Pekarova, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP
I am very passionate about helping my patients to get better and I believe that psychiatric care should be affordable and evidence-based. I have been practicing since 2016. I offer both in-person and telehealth visits. I believe that our body and mind are strongly connected. I don't have an ideal patient except that they are open and willing to change. I believe that every person has the potential to get better!
I have been board-certified as an FNP (family nurse practitioner) since 2016 and I have been in practice full-time since then. As an FNP I have been treating all diseases including ADHD, depression, and anxiety but my passion for psychiatric illness made me to return to school to acquire board certification in PMHNP- BC.
Being certified in both Family Health and mental health made me better understand the possible causes of mental health problems. Many mental problems are caused by other diseases and this has to be ruled out before any psychiatry treatment is started.
